Hello Happy Site Owners! It’s been an amazing week and Tips Tuesday is packed with good stuff from all over the web. Also want to let you know that I’ve been adding new WordPress video tutorials to the library. The latest one is on the User Profile and how to properly set it up for site security, optimizing for all the places it shows on your site, and how to keep a consistent presence all over the web. It’s exclusive to BlogAid Video Tutorial Course subscribers. (Not even a peek on YouTube this time.)
I bet WinWPStuff.com quickly becomes a popular website. Offers from all over the web are represented. It’s free to submit something, and the board is closely monitored to ensure that only high quality give-aways are listed. Anything that requires payment is not allowed, so it really is free.

The description on Bad Behavior states that it “complements other link spam solutions by acting as a gatekeeper, preventing spammers from ever delivering their junk, and in many cases, from ever reading your site in the first place.” Notice that it doesn’t replace Akismet, it complements it. Do you use this plugin?

Most bloggers fall into two categories: those that have hundreds of post ideas and those that have none. Mind-mapping can help with both. Here’s a nice post by Joey Strawn on By Bloggers, For Bloggers about a little piece of software he uses called MindNode to help him.
While you’re on the site see this nice post by Frank Dickinson on 5 Ways to Atrract More Comments on Your Blog.

On By Bloggers, For Bloggers, Danny Brown asks, Should You Abandon SEO for Social Search and Optimization? He also shows you screenshots to backup his answer. But, I compared that with my own traffic. My percentage of hits from Google is similar (being over 50%), but my social media traffic is far higher than what he shows. However, my StumbleUpon traffic is far lower. So, I guess the “proof” has a lot to do with where you spend your time marketing your site. For Danny, sticking with traditional SEO is the key. But, that’s not true for everyone. Where does your traffic come from and how does it compare to Danny’s?

If you’ve been reading Tips Tuesday for long you know that Stanford is becoming one of my fave bloggers on Pushing Social. In this post he offers 7 Simple Ways to Tweak Your Blog Email Opt-in to Get More Reader Sign Ups. I can tell you that the ones I use on this list actually work. And, I’m going to be implementing the others. Like he says, that’s the trick. Too many bloggers are just tip collectors. You actually have to do these things to get results.
Nice video from Sydni Craig-Hart about actions you can take right now on How to Focus Your Marketing and Get More Clients. One of the things I like best about Sydni is that she ALWAYS gives you actionable tips. If you’re not already following her, you ought to.
I do this and it works. Nice guest post by Mitt Ray on Social Mouths for How to Use White Papers in Your Content Marketing Strategy. I use short ebooks, which are a little longer than white papers, but the principle is the same. You wouldn’t believe the mileage How to Backup Your WordPress Site gets me on LinkedIn. Folks are constantly asking for the best way to do it, and there are always plenty of answers from very knowledgeable folks. But, when I can also include a link to an ebook with everything the requester needs to know, who do you think stands out in the crowd?
