There are several wonderful opportunities you’ll want to participate in this week and next. You’ll get all kinds of great traffic to your site, meet new business friends, and win great prizes too!
You’ll Love This!
One of my Facebook buddies, Lori Randall Stradtman, owner of Social Media Design, has been running a fun event this week on Facebook, in which BlogAid has been participating. It’s called Pages Gone Wild, Spring Break 2011. And, here’s a nice list of all the pages that are participating so far. She’s updating it daily.
Tony Eldridge, owner of Marketing Tips for Authors is hosting a Twitter contest from this Friday, April 22nd through May 1st that BlogAid is sponsoring. I’ve just seen the grand prize drawing package and the winner will definitely feel like they hit the jackpot with this one! Even if you’re not an author, you’ll benefit in a big way from these prizes. Marketing is marketing is marketing, whether it’s a book, or a product, or a service. So, start following @TonyEldridge on Twitter now, so you won’t miss a thing.
You can also read my Q&A with Tony that we did on his site this past week on how site owners can avoid costly pitfalls.
And, I had a delightful time being interviewed by Shelley Hitz on Self-Publishing Coach recently. Be sure to catch this informative Q&A too.
Facebook Biz Page Guide
This is just about everything you want to know about building a Facebook biz page with iFrames. It’s a guest post by guru Tim Ware, owner of HyperArts, on Techipedia titled How to Build the Perfect Facebook Fan Page, 2011 Edition and it has loads of examples. There’s only one little tip missing here, and it’s a bug that popped up after Tim wrote this article. You can see the additional note in my article Where You Host Facebook iFrame Content Matters.
It’s Not All About Ranking
Improved rankings in search engines doesn’t necessarily mean more click-throughs or conversions. See this Search Engine Land guest post by George Aspland on How To Build Business By Focusing On Click-Throughs & Conversions, Not Just Rankings.
I was shocked to see the results from a recent poll by Denise Wakeman on her Build a Better Blog site. It’s titled Blog Updates by Email Wins By a Big Margin. The poll clearly shows that her followers prefer to receive her blog updates via email instead of in an RSS feed reader. What do your followers like? Have you asked them? Let me know what you prefer.
Tag Your Posts
Do you always include a tag on your blog posts? Most of us use categories, but not so many folks use tags, and you should. Here’s a nice post by Elissa Nauful on Social Media Today that will teach you Tagging 101.
