Those Monday holidays always throw me off schedule a bit. It is the same for you?

And since we have a short week, this will be a lighter Tips Tuesday.

GA4 Tips

GA4 Final Month to Get Switched

This is it.

We are just 1 month away from the switch to GA4.

Your current Universal Analytics will stop collecting data on June 1.

If you have not yet set up GA4, you really need to get busy with it.

Life happens and you’ll be out of time before you know it.

Get into my GA4 course and set aside about 30-45 minutes and you’ll have the entire basic setup complete.

That way you’ll be collecting data no matter what.

Then you can relax and see the report tutorials at your leisure.

Why You’re Seeing a Drop in Traffic

This past week I emailed the Ultimate GA4 course members about why they may seeing a drop in traffic.

It’s because some of that traffic is not being counted.

The latest Apple iOS as well as the Safari browser are blocking all cookie tracking by default now, including your analytics cookie.

And we all know that iPhones are the #1 mobile device used to visit our sites.

Plus, a lot of those folks use the Safari browser instead of Chrome.

There is a way to capture those counts, but the legal aspects of it are a bit fuzzy.

I had considered offering that workaround in the course, but I was stunned not to hear a reply from a single person in the course that they would be interested.

So, I’m rethinking if I want to offer it.

And if I do, it will have legal disclaimers that you should use at your own discretion.

Ad Agency Cookie Blocker Breakers

If anyone is working with an ad agency, I’m wondering if you would ask them how they might be getting around these cookie blocks. The reason why is that even if you don’t set this workaround up for your own analytics, it could be on your site from the ad agency, and you would still be legally liable for it.

Ignorance of the law will not be a viable excuse.

So, it’s worth checking into so you know what info is being collected on your site.

SEO Tips

Image SEO Workshop

The Image SEO Workshop Part 3 is this week in the DIY SEO course.

We’re covering a bit on AI images in our workshops too.

And, you’ll know all 15 ways you can get SEO on your images as well.

AI Image Tips

Photoshop Generative Fill is a Game Changer

Holy cow!!!

Have you see what Adobe released in both Adobe Firefly, and more importantly in Photoshop?

It’s a new Generative Fill and it totally changes the game for AI image generation.

You can expand the scene of an image, remove things, add things, change things, and more.

See how to get started with it over on the AIDiscoverHub.

I’ll be running a series of posts on it this week.

So, be sure to follow AIDiscoverHub on your favorite social platform that allows videos.

And sign up for the newsletter so you never miss a thing.

Possible AI Image Mini Course

I’m seriously thinking about offering a mini course on AI images.

And, I’m chatting with partners about what their peeps most want to know about it.

I think we’ll be releasing a poll soon to guage interest for all the various things you can do now with AI images, including selling them.

BlogAid News subscribers will be the first to hear about it.

AI Tips

Edge Browser as Default June 15

If you use Outlook or Microsoft Teams, any links you click will open in the Edge Browser by default starting June 15.

I see this as a precursor to Microsoft requiring folks to use the Edge browser for all of their AI integration coming to their Office products.

You have to use Edge now for Bing Chat. But you don’t have to use it for ChatGPT access. However, that could change.

Why Google Wants You to Use Chrome

By default, the Chrome browser is set to track your internet use.

This is a HUGE part of how Google gathers data for what ads to show you in search and such too.

And ads in search are 80% of Google’s revenue.

So, anytime that Microsoft pushes folks to use Bing and/or the Edge browser, it literally costs Google money.

This is already spilling over into the AI wars and I suspect we’ll end up with a lot of exclusivity with some AI tools only working with certain browsers.

Plus, Google can use data from Chrome users to impact search rankings as well.

As you read previously, the browser your site visitor uses impacts how much you can track too.

So, this is a big deal all the way around, not just for Google.
