The popular TinyMCE Advanced plugin has been revamped for WordPress 3.9 as of April 19 2014. In fact, the new plugin will not give you an update notice until it detects that you have upgraded to 3.9, which is great, because it is required. In this video, I’ll take you on a tour of the new features and the quick and dirty setup of the toolbars.
Thank you to developer Andrew Ozz and his team for updating this fantastic plugin!

Thanks for this great video MaAnna – I’ve used it for some time but hadn’t ever used the options in the red box.
Just one thing I’ve noticed with the new editor – and I’m not sure if this is a TINYMce or a WordPress change – but the text/background colour picker no long er allows me to put in hex codes – which is a hassle when I’m customising things for a client.
The workaround I use is to select a colour & then go into the text editor to replace the hex code, but it’s cumbersome – so if you (or anyone else) has a better solution, I’d love to hear it!
thanks…
Tracy, the color picker being gone is one of the things I featured in the New in WordPress 3.9 video. It’s gone at the core level for everyone. So, seriously doubt the plugin developers are going to bring it back. I used it too, and hoping a lot of folks will complain to the WP development core to bring it back.
Thanks, I hadn’t watched your other video yet … it’s a pain, isn’t it! I’ll dig around to see where one can complain – or if you have a link, do feel free to post it here :)
