Blog Post SEO Workshop This Week
This Thursday we’ll do our final regularly scheduled workshop in the DIY SEO course.
We now have all this squared away:
- Technical SEO – so we are sure that Google can crawl our site and not find issues when it does
- Global SEO – so we know that our SEO meta data everywhere is good
- Content silo – so we know how to do proper internal linking and create hierarchies of content that both Google and readers love

Money Making Tips
Diversify Your Income Streams
I’ve long heard that billionaires have at least 7 streams of income.
Even with BlogAid, I don’t just offer site services like audits and such. I also offer multiple courses and I recommend products and vendors that me and my peeps use, some of which have affiliate commissions.
So, even within BlogAid I diversify.
And then I also have Heartwood Art where I make YouTube and Amazon affiliate income.
And now I have AI Discover Hub that’s already in the money and growing.
Know Market and Money Plans First
I started it with a focus on video, knowing that was the fastest way to grow my audience.
And I knew I would have some type of course, it just took me a few months to decide what part of the AI spectrum I wanted to dive into deeply. Right now that is an AI images course. I plan to add an AI video course.
And I plan to do more with the faceless YouTube channel I opened earlier this year that let’s me play with AI in different ways.
The point is, I knew how I was going to market and monetize it going in. Same with Heartwood Art.
With my secret project, that is now off the stove completely for a while, I have multiple income stream opportunities for it. And I will circle back to it and Heartwood Art at some point, if for nothing else, as my hands-on creative outlets.
Monetization Options Abound
I did a consult last week with someone who is a multi-passionate person, like me, and has a lot of deep expertise and skills to offer in various fields.
In our first consult, I helped her explore the monetization potential of all her ideas, and why niching was a better idea than going too broad to include all these things she can do that are related. She can do them all, just not all on the same site.
In this most recent consult, she had narrowed it down to 2 possibilities and 1 of them had far higher monetization potential. So, we talked through all of the different ways she could make money with it. And that included multiple income streams from it, much like I do with BlogAid.
The least attractive way to make money on the list was blogging for ads.
The fact is, you have to grow an audience no matter what.
Video is, by far, the best ROI for that. And you can make a blog post with the script of that video as a secondary way to get SEO and have a central location for your info.
Video immediately endears trust, especially when you use it to educate folks.
When you are giving them the help they need, they are going to want more. And a percentage of them are going to be willing to pay for it because they value your help.
My client has all kinds of monetization options, like:
- Books
- Courses
- Apps
- Patreon type gated live access
- Products she makes
- Products she affiliates
Eventually she’ll probably do all of them.
But, the key to this is to do what has the most ROI while simultaneously building an audience.
And that’s what we spent most of our consult time on – figuring out which monetization offer to produce first while she is growing her audience base.
We came up with ideas that will literally have folks begging her for a course, just like folks did with me over the AI images. And that’s the time to build that income stream because courses are a heavy up-front investment.
There are other ways to monetize faster than that, and that don’t require as much up-front budget in time and money, and doesn’t take as big of an audience to be profitable with like a course.
Vlogging Beats Blogging
According to a recent study, there are 6 million new blog posts published every day.
There are 3.7 million new videos posted to YouTube daily, according to this data.
I don’t know about you, but I’d rather try to be a big fish in the smaller pond.
Your YouTube video is more likely to be seen at the top of Google Search than your blog post too.
With all of the AI video tools we have now, I can’t imagine any excuse for not making videos of some sort.
Beyond that, if you blog about something that has a show and tell component, you MUST make a video of it to beat AI in search now too.
I haven’t blogged/vlogged on Heartwood Art in 2 years and the traffic is still trounching BlogAid. I’m not making as much money as I do with BlogAid, of course, but that’s only because I’m not working it full time.
The point is, evergreen material does extremely well on video. And I get traffic to my site from YouTube.

WordPress Tips
WordPress 6.3 RC1 Released
The first Release Candidate for WP 6.3 is out. I suspect RC2 will be out today or later this week.
A Release Cadidate means that they have stopped all development and are now focused solely on bug fixes.
I’ll be starting my tests of 6.3 this week and making a tour for you.
The release date is expected to by Aug 8.
