Keywords Workshop in DIY SEO This Week

Keywords – you already know how crazy important they are for your SEO.

But, do you know which tools are best to use to find the most effective keywords for your posts?

They are probably not the ones you hear about all the time.

Plus, we’ll cover where to get new keyword ideas so you can take a fresh angle on your content.

That’s so important if you write about the same topics all the time.

It’s always a good time to join us in the DIY SEO course.

New AI SEO Workshops Coming

While I haven’t seen AI write super good posts that are SEO powerhouses yet, I have seen SEO analysis that’s pretty fab!!

I’m busy working on new AI SEO workshops for the DIY SEO course.

We’ll be doing keyword research and competitive analysis on top posts as well as our own posts.

Client Collaborations

For the last 2 years I’ve been encouraging my blogging clients to get away from ads as their main source of revenue and to branch out into their own products.

Several of them have done it and they are seeing great success with it.

And now with all of the AI tools we can use, some are seeing new potential to branch out in new directions, or use it to enhance what they are already doing.

Over the past 2 weeks I’ve been in talks with clients who want to dive deep into AI images.

And to be honest, that’s the part of AI that has captured my imagination the most too.

New courses and services are in the planning phase.

And I’m delighted to be collaborating with others to bring you expertise in a variety of related opportunities.

I can’t let the cat out of the bag on all of it.

But, I can say that you’ll want to follow me on the AI Discover Hub to see a new AI image challenge that me and one of my clients are about to start.

I’ll be sharing my journey as I take this deep dive into AI images as I’m documenting what I do for a new course that will be one part of a bigger whole of connected training.

Webmaster Training Revamp

This past week I have been a tutorial making maniac, and I will be for the next week or two as I continue to update and revamp the Webmaster Training tutorials.

This training is made specifically for designers who want to know how to make sites fast and secure.

Bloggers, go have a look at what’s in the training. It’s what I bring to you in a site audit or new site setup.

And it’s what your designer should know about too.

In fact, I send ALL of my site audit clients to my webmaster designers when they are ready to change themes.

That’s because the designer has to be speed, security, HTTPS, and Cloudflare aware or they could wipe out all of the work my client paid me to do for them.

You’re going to hear me talking a lot about what’s in this training over the next few weeks too as I highlight how security impacts site speed and more.

Secret Project Update

Back at the turn of the year I was all excited about a new business venture that I had hoped to launch soon.

But tackling the GA4 research required that I put it aside until about March.

And then I ran into a wall of frustration with creating one part of it that involved me going through 5 instructors over 2 months to get that part done.

It literally took the wind out of my sails, as far as joy with doing it. But I did get it done.

I just needed to take a break from it and reclaim my joy and enthusiasm for doing what’s left, and that’s a LOT.

So, I’m ready to dive back in.

It’s a fun activity to do in the evenings, but that’s all the time I can devote to it.

So, I’m thinking at least another 3 months before I’m ready to launch.

Take a Break When You Need To

You may have had great passion about a topic or niche when you first started your blog.

But maybe it has all just turned into drudgery work now.

It’s okay to take a break from it.

It’s also okay to change directions.

In fact, that’s where these client collaborations are coming from. We are each changing directions.

And it’s exciting because we have the experience and knowledge to see what we can do with it, and how to make that happen a lot faster than it did with our first endeavor.

Get a Consult

This past week I chatted with a client about the new endeavor she is about to undertake. And there are so many possibilities with it that she’s struggling to remain focused.

It’s not the main thing she is struggling with, it’s all the related side endeavors.

Our chat helped her see the pitfalls in going broad with those side endeavors and to keep her eyes on the money available in the more narrow niche she’s already working in and wants to expand.

So, instead of her going wide, she’s going to look for those who already do those related things and offer them to her peeps via affiliate marketing.

She has already got the clients. And now she will be able to make money by helping them find the other related training or services they may need.

I do the same thing with BlogAid. I help you find hosting and designers and email setup up because those are all specialty services and I can’t cover it all. So I don’t. I stay focused on what I specialize in and find others I trust for the rest.

I know my clients are in good hands with these folks too.

That’s also why I only offer affiliate invitations to folks who actually take my courses.

A trusted network is a valuable thing to have.

You don’t have to do it all.

Collaborate and cooperate.

Your clients will be better served by it.

And you will stay focused on what you enjoy the most.

Plus, you and your partners will all make more money.

Are you ready to up your game or change direction?

Let’s talk it out.

Hashtags – Are You Using Too Many?

As bloggers, we tend to focus most of our attention on crafting the perfect blog post.

And then publishing to social media sites ends up just being an afterthought chore. And a lot of folks decide that automating it is a good way to go.

I’m not in that camp.

I find that each of the platforms has its own flavor and structure.

On some of them, it’s advantageous to include a LOT of content. In fact, you could put your whole post in the description and it’s super helpful for the SEO and algorithm on that platform.

But what else is different between the platforms is the number of hashtags you should be using.

I think a whole bunch of bloggers have set social posting on auto pilot and they are still using tons of hashtags.

That’s not the way it’s done anymore. Less is better.

Go have a look at this article from the Content Marketing Institute and see what hashtag strategy works best for each platform.

As for automation, this marketing is what gets folks to your site. The quality of the blog post doesn’t matter if they never see it.

Perhaps rethink marketing as just important, if not moreso, than the post.

Social Media as Search Engine

This article on Yoast asks if social media platforms are becoming the new search engines.

I can tell you this is a resounding YES!!!!!

When that new Google Analytics countdown time showed up, my TikTok video on it blew up. Folks went everywhere but Google to find out what was going on.

In fact, for news of the moment, Twitter used to own it. But now TikTok does.

More and more folks are dumping Google search. And honestly, Bing search just doesn’t have the same depth as Google. And the rest of the search engines have even less depth than Bing.

This is also why it’s worth doing your social posting manually so that you can take advantage of platforms that allow more characters, like Instagram, TikTok, and even YouTube.

That extra content is just like the SEO you do for your blog post.

And it helps the platform ensure that your content is shown to the right people even moreso than hashtags.

Plus, the actual content of the social media post, especially video, gives folks a taste of what the whole post is about. And more folks prefer to browse that way before they commit the time to read more.

Boost Your Blog Traffic – 10 Strategies

Speaking of getting traffic, this post on ProBlogger has 10 strategies to boost visits to your site.

Of course it includes tips on social media.

But it also suggests that your internal linking plays a part too.

In fact, that’s what we cover in the Content Silo workshop that is coming up in the DIY SEO course in a couple of weeks.

And it also covers collaborating with other bloggers too, just like what I’m doing with some of my clients.
