BlogAid Happenings

There wasn’t a whole lot of site news this past week, so this will be a short post.

But, I’m actually glad to have a bit of a break from so much reading and reporting.

This past week I’ve been tending to Zak’s needs. Schnauzers are prone to digestive upsets and he had a case of diarrhea. Thankfully he wakes me up when he has to go at night. And thankfully it was not raining or cold or such.

But, being up about once an hour between 1-6am gave me a little brain fog during the day. And it was cumulative. By day 3 I had to check and recheck my work. I tried to take naps, but just couldn’t. And they left me even more groggy.

I stumbled through the live session for the Image SEO workshop, which takes a lot of coordination in keeping up with my notes and the slides and the comments.

For the most part, I was okay if I didn’t have to change gears too much and could just focus on one thing at a time.

Do you have off days like that too, where you have to pay attention a little harder than normal?

It really made me aware of how many gears I normally flip through every hour with this work on some days too.

Zak is mostly better now, and I’m mostly caught up on my sleep too. So, we’re good.

Seems like I’ve had a lot of discombobulation this spring, with a death in the family, food poisoning, and now Zak’s tummy upset. I appreciate everyone’s patience with me. I’m also thankful that my schedule was naturally lighter through this time too.

EZ Metrix Update

I was also grateful to be able to spend several uninterrupted hours a day this week making the tutorials for the new EZ Metrix course. Being able to focus on one thing and get in a rhythm was great.

I actually saw a few improvements in the report pages as I went and I updated the reports for all beta testers too. And, I created a new report page that allows you to track what’s happening with specific pages. That’s so important when you launch a new landing page or have something go viral.

The pre-checks for setup are all finalized.

And the Tier 1 tutorials are ready.

This week I’m combing through all of the feedback from the beta testers. They were so good to give me tips on how they were using the reports to really dig down into the metrics. And, they let me know how easy these reports made it to do.

In fact, one beta tester had 4-5 spreadsheets open at a time to try to do what she can easily see in just one report now. That thrills me to no end.

All of this will go into the new Tier 2 tutorials and my goal is to finish those up this week.

I’ll be putting together a live webinar so you can see this thing in action soon too. You’ll love it!

Image SEO Workshop Part 2 This Week

There are 15 ways to improve your SEO with images.

Last week we covered how display and file size affect your load speed, alt text and title, embedding, and so much more.

This week we’ll dive into how Google looks at your images, including how they are seen in context. That will include the different options for lazy load and why there is one clear winner.

It’s always a good time to join us in the DIY SEO course. And Hub members have a standing discount, so be sure to grab that code in your membership.

Site Services Update

If you’re due for a site audit checkup in May, now is the time to get that request in

Things are heating up again. And the waitlist is now about 2 weeks, going into 3.

I’m also doing new theme consults like crazy lately too.

And, more folks are coming in for consults to pivot their business or add a new money maker to it.

Get your live session booked and let’s get your new thing going.

Checking Weird Stuff in GSC

In a week or so I’m meeting with a client who was hit hard by the Helpful Content Update back in September.

Since then she has been seeing some odd issues reported in Google Search Console.

I’ve been seeing some odd things on one of my sites too.

Both of us pour over our metrics all the time. So when we see a big change like that, we notice.

And this is just one more reason why you need to keep on top of your metrics regularly. If you don’t, you would have zero idea what was normal, or what regular fluctuations in your metrics are. So you would have no way to spot something odd, or a big change, or what it means.

We’re going to get together live and dig into these things to see what we can find.

I’ll keep you posted.

OpenAI May Launch Search Engine Soon

If this happens, it’s going to be a big scoop on Google!!

OpenAI may have a big event coming up on May 9 to announce their new Search Engine launch.

That will be right ahead of Google’s big annual I/O event which is slated for May 14.

And while this will cause some serious PR waves, it may or may not live up to the hype. However, it still may kill off another Google Search rival.

Here’s what’s going on and what you need to check and watch for with your site traffic.
