AI Image News

AI Images Course Live Testing

I’m thrilled to announce that the new AI images course is in the live testing phase and it’s going well!

I’m putting together a webinar and will be sending links for it and discount coupons to all subscribers of AIDiscoverHub News. So make sure you’re subscribed there.

See AI Images in Action

I’m positive that once you see what you can create with AI you’ll want to jump in.

I know this because 3 folks I’ve shared the new course with were on the fence about using AI images and what they could do with it.

And the minute they saw the images, their creativity lit on fire, just like mine has.

That’s why I’ll be doing a webinar to create images right on the spot for you and answer your questions.

I’ve also been invited to speak to the AI Success Club members about AI images on Aug 1.

That club is a GREAT way to discover how to use AI for ideas, marketing, and so much more.

And I’ll be one of only sixteen speakers at a big AI Summit on Aug 10. It’s free and I’ll have more info for how you can attend that soon.

(AI Discover Hub News folks are the first to hear about stuff like this.)

On-Page SEO Workshop This Week

We’re coming down to to the last 2 live workshops in the DIY SEO course.

This week we’ll be covering SEO for pages.

It’s different than SEO for blog posts, which is what we’ll be covering next week.

New INP Issues from Google Search Console

Have you received an email from Google Search Console that your site has INP issues?

If you haven’t, just wait, they may not have gotten to you yet.

It’s a new Core Web Vital metric that replaces two other metrics that weren’t all that accurate.

And this new INP one isn’t either.

It won’t actually go into effect until March 2024 and Google will be tweaking on it like crazy until then.

So, don’t even waste your time trying to find or fix it right now. There’s nothing actually wrong with your site. There is something very wrong with the way they are weighting and triggering this new metric.

CWV in GSC are Whack

In fact, I think the Core Web Vitals report in Google Search Console is a complete waste of time to even look at.

You’ll see it jump all over the place with everything being wrong on your site one day and the next everything is fine.

You do get that only a percentage of the data they are collecting to determine what’s going on is from your actual audience, right?

Most of it is from bots and users who are not your target audience anyway.

Plus, CWV is not a ranking factor. It’s a filter.

Authoritative content that has good backlinks will ALWAYS outrank everything else, no matter what their CWVs are.

Are You Relying Too Heavily on Google for Traffic?

I think all bloggers are of the mindset that Google should be their main traffic generator, especially now with the demise of Pinterest for any blogger who was not already well established there.

And they focus all of their energy on the post and very little on the promotion of that post.

Social media is just an additional chore.

I don’t know ANY memebership, course, or product creators who think that way.

Promotion is what they focus on.

Make one thing and promote the crap out of it, even if it is mainly to your own list.

And growing that list and then nurturing that list is the key.

Plus, they partner with other creators who do the same and join their affiliate program.

That’s how they make money.

It’s how I will make money on AIDH.

It’s how you can make money too.

Blogging Tips

Audiences Don’t Care if AI Created Your Content

This is a quotation from the article on Content Marketing Institute.

“Who created the content doesn’t matter in content marketing. What matters is whether the content delivered what the audience and brand wanted. For the audience, that’s information or entertainment. For the brand, that’s clicks and other actions along the buyer’s journey.”

And like the article says, I have also see humans write just mediocre content that you’d think it was spit out by a bot.

Folks are using AI to spit out content, videos, and now even podcasts where they have zero experience with the subject matter.

They literally scrape the content right out of blogs and videos and audio from folks who do know what they are talking about, put it through a content spinner, and then regergetate it out under their own brand.

And they were doing this prior to so many AI tools being available too – for years. It’s just that it is a whole lot easier and faster with AI now.

And then AI is going to get trained on this new junk content and we’re going to see a steady decline in content accuracy.

That is why it is so insanely important that you establish yourself as someone who knows what they are talking about.

That does not require 2000 word posts.

I do it every day in 250 word scripts that I use for my videos and blog posts.

It’s evident I know what I’m talking about. It’s evident that the info I deliver is helpful to you.

It’s fine to use AI tools to help you with ideas and to help improve your content.

But you are the only one who can check it for accuracy. And you are the only one who can voice it for your audience.

With all of the AI junk content that is now upon us, and more coming every day, use AI to help you beat AI-only content.

Expertise, especially on video, is a great way to stand out.

WordPress Tips

Reusable Blocks Are Now Patterns

One of the most powerful features of Gutenberg blocks is Reusable Blocks. And WP has borked them so bad that few of us use them anymore. They are just not stable.

To add to the confusion, Reusable Blocks are now called Patterns.

And they can be made to sync or not sync when changed, just like Patterns too.

What the hey, WP? They were always that way.

All you had to do was convert it to a standard block to take away the sync.

Everything about RBs and Patterns was ill thought out, and it hasn’t gotten any better with this move.

That’s so sad. It could have had super powers that we all needed and wanted.

I still have RBs all over Heartwood Art. Maybe someday I’ll pay someone to convert them all to Standard blocks.

I have not tried Patterns in a long time. I don’t know if we can create our own easily now or not. It used to be too hard to do.

I’ll check into it when I have time, but that may be a while.

If you know, please leave a comment for us.

WordPress 6.3 Expected on Aug 8

We’re up to beta 4 on the next release of WP. I expect another beta may come out today and I will start testing it next week. And I’ll have a video tour ready for you when it launches, though we will not be updating to it right away.

BlogAid News subscribers will get my update instructions when I feel it is safe to do so.

End of Gutenberg Phase 2

WP 6.3 will be the last release that focuses on Phase 2 of Gutenberg, which has been all about the block editor, including making themes fully block compliant.

Phase 3 of Gutenberg will be all about team collaboration on a single site. I don’t expect that will impact most of us, as we don’t have teams creating content for us.

But, I will be looking to see how it impacts revisions, which impact our database, which impacts our speed.

And they will be making big changes to the Media Library too.

AI Websites

Bluehost Launches AI Powered WP Site Building

Bluehost has stayed a top recommended host by WP for 2 reasons:

  • The money Bluehost donates to WP
  • Super easy onboarding process for new site owners

And that onboarding process has now taken a big AI turn.

Bluehost has obviously trained a private AI model on their own tutorials.

And they have now built a new interface for a WP site building wizard that relies on that AI to show newbies the info they need based on their experience level.

While lots of bloggers may start at Bluehost, it is not the kind of host you want to stay at if you’re serious about making money online.

But now, with this new AI onboarding experience, they are leading the way to show how it’s done for folks just starting out.

I think a lot of race-to-the-bottom priced hosts have been put on notice with this move.

AI-Only Built Sites are Junk

In contrast to what Bluehost is doing by incorporating an AI-driven interface for creating a WP site, some folks are claiming that ChatGPT can build a full site for them in 10 minutes.

Yeah, and it looks and acts like it was built in 10 minutes by a newbie programmer too.

Forget about UX, ADA, conversion, SEO, and anything else a WP site with a decent theme has.

You can also forget about adding plugins to an AI built site too. You better know how to code to do that, or go back to ChatGPT’s Code Interpreter to do it.

The only folks falling for this hype are brand new site owners who think design should be DIY, fast, and cheap.

I don’t know ANY money-making bloggers who would dare touch such a thing.

I do know several online site owners who are using Wix and Weebly and even Shopify for both their blog and store and they are doing fine.

And those site platforms are head and shoulders above any kind of hard-coded thing from AI right now.

I know I’m preaching to the choir with this advice. But friends don’t let friends AI a site design. Tell your buddies it’s a no-go.

  1. This video just came out showing how Synced Patterns will work – very similar to the Reusable Blocks. You only need to watch the first 20-30 minutes to get all the info.
    https://wordpress.tv/2023/07/18/builder-basics-goodbye-reusable-blocks-hello-synced-patterns-and-more/

Nick is using a block theme, but saving and using them in the post/page editor is similar to using Reusable Blocks now.

In WP 6.3, you will also have the option to create your own Patterns (not synced) to use elsewhere in your theme. So this part is different (easier) than converting a Reusable Block to a standard set of blocks.
